Living Spaces
I’ve moved around 10 times throughout my childhood, living in a total of 8 different houses or apartments, and each and every time I had to say goodbye to one chapter of my life and move onto another, taking with me a host of memories and emotions from one chapter into the next. The latest move, resulting from my dad’s decision to sell what I would call my childhood home, was the hardest hitting of any move I’d been through. It struck me deeper than I thought any move ever could, but it led me to reflect on the idea of “home” and reminisce on what that looked like to me.
I realized “home” has looked like many different things and I wanted to capture that, but not just that. I also wanted to capture the fading memories I have associated with those living spaces, and the ephemeral quality of the past and changing future.
